» About Us
EDGE OF AFRICA is the mother company for:
  • CONSERVATION EDGE
  • COMMUNITY EDGE
  • SPORTS EDGE

We work in association with a number of specialists and enthusiasts towards CREATING SUSTAINABLE SOLITIONS and EMPOWERING LOCAL INITATIVES in Africa. We are not agents- we develop our own volunteer projects, all of which work towards the upliftment and preservation of what lies closest to our hearts- African Heritage. We are represented by agents worldwide and our team continues to grow with the addition of dedicated international and local volunteers.

The Community Edge ethos is to work with self sustaining projects and move away from the 'hand-out' culture that has been generated by travellers to Africa. We instead aim empower locals to help themselves through self motivation.

The Team

Our team includes African specialists who have dedicated their lives to the improvement and upliftment of Africans for decades. From NGO's to individual community initatives, we are proud and confident that our volunteers are contributing to the betterment of lives.

Our Logo

In African Culture, woman are the pillars that hold together communities- the typical mother figure. They are symbols of hard working, strong and wise individuals, always seen with a hearty smile. In the same way, we work towards supporting the projects, the children and adults they cater for.
There is a story about an NGO that tried to assist a local community by supplying a water pump for the village so that the women wouldn't have to walk for 5 hours to collect water. This was not well received, as the locals explained that the women needed this time to discuss social issues of the villagers, and without this the community structure would crumble.
